Fall Paint Care Checklist
FALL Hazards for Your Car's Paint Finish
The transition from summer to winter exposes car paint to a unique mix of damaging elements. Unlike winter damage from salt, fall damage is often slow, acidic, and tied to organic materials and consistent moisture.
What To Look for!
When the fall season starts your paint is exposed to unique sources of damage like sap from parking under trees, leaves and debris from trees, and street maintenance using chemicals to treat the road during the cold weather. But don't worry too much, with the right treatment you can prevent and mitigate most if not all sources of damage.
The Soloutions
The best thing to do is clean your car when you see potentially damaging things on your car, And either apply a wax or sealant yourself or by proffesionals, but If there is tree sap, or other contaminants already digging into the paint you'll likely need to clay bar ,decontaminate and polish the paint at best, or in some extreme cases repaint the panel.
